Circle has announced a major strategic push to integrate its flagship digital currencies, the USDC and EURC stablecoins, directly into enterprise payment workflows. The move is being executed through a partnership with Tereina, a specialized financial services company backed by German enterprise software giant SAP. This development bridges the gap between traditional corporate resource planning and blockchain-based financial rails, offering businesses a native way to settle transactions without leaving their familiar software environments.
Under the terms of the integration, businesses that utilize SAP’s widely adopted financial software suite will soon be able to send and receive USDC and EURC directly within the core applications they already rely on for daily financial management and operations. Within this new workflow framework, USDC will serve as the preferred stablecoin for dollar-denominated transactions, while EURC will be readily available for euro-denominated payments. By embedding these assets directly into enterprise applications, the initiative aims to eliminate traditional friction points associated with cross-border invoicing, treasury management, and legacy banking delays.

Tereina specializes in providing robust payment infrastructure that companies can embed directly into their internal business software. This capability allows organizations to execute financial transactions seamlessly without the cumbersome requirement of switching to a separate financial platform or relying exclusively on slow, traditional wire transfers. According to announcements from both companies, Tereina and Circle plan to roll out a targeted pilot phase over the coming months. During this initial testing period, select enterprise customers will trial the stablecoin integration across vital financial functions, with an immediate emphasis on global payments and complex treasury operations.
The potential scale of this integration is considerable, given the vast footprint of the underlying software ecosystem. According to the joint announcement, the SAP ecosystem currently powers and generates approximately 84% of global commerce. This massive market penetration provides the stablecoin integration with an exceptionally broad enterprise reach, potentially introducing millions of corporate users and trillions of dollars in commercial activity to blockchain-based settlement layers for the first time. By tapping into an infrastructure that underpins the vast majority of international trade and supply chain management, the partnership marks a significant milestone for enterprise crypto adoption.
This major enterprise advancement arrives less than a month after Circle officially launched the mainnet of Arc, its proprietary layer-1 blockchain engineered specifically for institutional stablecoin payments and global financial markets. Arc utilizes USDC natively to pay for transaction fees and is designed to support a broad array of more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, prominent among them being USDC and EURC. The concurrent rollout of the Arc network and the SAP-backed Tereina integration highlights Circle’s broader corporate strategy to position its digital currency rails as the backbone for both decentralized applications and mainstream institutional finance. As these enterprise testing phases progress over the coming months, the intersection of traditional enterprise software and public blockchain infrastructure will face its most significant real-world stress test to date.
